Protect Against the Number One Cause of a Data Breach – Human Error
CISOs around the world agree – human error is the most dangerous threat that any cybersecurity plan can face. In a recent study, 55% of survey respondents noted that human error and lack of cybersecurity awareness is their top concern. Even though they were concerned, 44% of the survey respondents stated they did not know how to discover who should be counted among the most at-risk employees for a major mistake.
So how can an organization add protection that helps guard against damage done by employee cybersecurity mistakes if it doesn’t know who might be in line to make those mistakes? By adding a strong guardian that protects your systems and data from all sorts of cybersecurity disasters that’s both effective and cost-effective.
Using a secure identity and access management solution like Passly to guard your access points is the fastest way to stop many of today’s worst threats without breaking the bank. It’s a crucial mitigation for today’s flexible workforce, enhancing security no matter where your staff is working from. That’s why more than 40% of CISOs chose secure identity and access management as their top cybersecurity priority in 2021.

The biggest shield that you gain against cybercrime with Passly is multifactor authentication. This single mitigation on its own can stop more than 90% of password-based cybercrime. That includes the majority of attacks based on credential compromise, the damage from password theft by phishing, the dangers of reused passwords and many other common human error driven catastrophes. Multifactor authentication is an absolute must-have for every business.
Every employee makes errors. Security awareness training and building a strong cybersecurity culture are important to reducing the incidence of mistakes, but you’ll never stop them all. By taking the proper precautions against damage caused by human error, you can keep your systems and data safe even when staffers aren’t on their toes.

Careful who you let on your computer - Don't fall victim
Careful who is calling, a client received calls from “Amazon Security Services”. They claimed their accounts had been hacked and that they needed to “get on their computer” because their “IP was public and that will allow someone to hack you”.
Then they ask to connect to the computer, make you log into Amazon and then they buy stuff (like Xbox credits) on your account.
Here’s what I saw:
They use AnyDesk to connect and I can imagine that this might look legitimate
Only let people on your machine you initiate..

Remote Work Raises Ransomware Risks & Fears
Your employees feel more vulnerable to cyberattacks when working remotely – and they’re right. But you can put the brakes on many threats quickly and easily without breaking the bank in just one step, and it’s practically painless: institute regular security awareness and phishing resistance training with the NEW BullPhish ID.
One cyberattack that employees are especially concerned about spotting is ransomware. About 48% of the employees in a recent survey named ransomware and similar malware as their biggest cybersecurity concern. That’s a valid concern because ransomware attacks ramped up by more than 300% in 2020.
Almost half of all damaging cyberattacks were ransomware attacks in 2020 with the total financial damage from ransomware operations clocking in at over $1 billion. That trend looks to continue into 2021 as a tight economy spurs cybercriminals into new territory looking for fresh profit centers.
Continuing stress from the global pandemic means that many employees will be working remotely well into the future. Unfortunately, many employees don’t feel safe from cyberattacks when they’re working from home – about 30% of workers do not feel confident about cybersecurity when working from home. Almost 60% of those workers cited a lack of security awareness training as a root cause of that lack of confidence.
Fortunately, we have a solution that can bolster your staff’s cybersecurity awareness: BullPhish ID. We’ve just added exciting new features like individual training portals for employees and simplified reporting, making the training process painless for everyone involved. Don’t forget, regular security awareness training can reduce your chance of falling prey to a cyberattack by up to 70%.
Don’t wait for a better time (or for everyone to be back in the office) to start your security awareness training for 2021. BullPhish ID is an affordable, remote-friendly solution that fits every business. Give your employees the kind of training that leaves them confident that they’re ready to help fight back against cybercrime anytime, anywhere.
